Designers & Makers of Furniture, Lighting & Accessories

Imperfettolab is an extension of the family behind it: Verter Turroni, Emanuela Ravelli, and their children Elia, Margherita, and Eusebio. Verter designs the pieces and his brother Erich assists him with his research. Emanuela is the voice of Imperfettolab, making connections and encouraging them all onward. The playful spirit of Imperfettolab is entrusted to their children who test the pieces for intrigue, functionality, and durability.

Imperfettolab's surrounding landscape of Romagna contains seas, hills, fog, and woods. Its ability to maintain harmony and balance even in its wildness is a constant inspiration to Verter.

Designs evolve at their own pace and can take from a day to several months. It is rare for Verter to begin with a firm vision.

Imperfettolab values collaboration, its project Imperfettoart Gallery supports artists and makers by developing exhibition and performance projects. Artists can experiment and develop their work and there is a large space to exhibit or perform. This appreciation for collaboration extends to the part Verter and Emanuela’s children play in the design process. Their fluidity, honesty, and naturalness is a constant barometer which Imperfettolab’s pieces are measured against. Verter says, ‘Their uncontaminated perception helps us to have a vision that we are rarely afforded. We are influenced by what we see, by magazines, by books, by observing the work of those we admire or criticise, and unconsciously we sometimes bring these ideas back into our work. It is there that the clear vision of our children intervenes and makes us reflect.’
